Xenics presents the Wildcat+ 1280 as a new shortwave infrared camera (SWIR)
This new product marks the beginning of the era of high-resolution SWIR cameras for Xenics customers.
Xenics is Europe’s leading developer and manufacturer of advanced infrared sensors, cameras and customized imaging solutions for the SWIR and longwave infrared (LWIR) range.
The Wildcat+ 1280 is a SWIR camera for industrial image processing applications with very high resolution and performance. With the Wildcat+ 1280, Xenics is expanding its range of SWIR cameras for industrial applications such as process monitoring, industrial image processing and medical technology. These high-performance cameras are also suitable for scientific applications.
This unique product demonstrates Xenics’ ability to respond to needs and meet demanding high resolution requirements for SWIR applications.
Xenics offers high-resolution SWIR camera for industry
Following the best-selling Wildcat 640 SWIR camera, Xenics is expanding its offering for industry with the Wildcat+ 1280. Customers can now benefit from the easy-to-use and powerful Wildcat industrial platform together with the high resolution in SXGA format (1280×1024). In addition, thanks to a 5 μm pitch sensor, the Wildcat+ 1280 is a compact solution at both the camera and optics level.
When industrial design meets high resolution
Xenics has a long experience with SWIR cameras specifically designed for industrial applications. The Wildcat platform therefore offers interfaces such as CameraLinkTM or a plug-and-play USB3 Vision, which makes the camera very easy to use in industrial environments. “Customers want more and more features as the industry moves towards high-resolution cameras. Our development team has therefore worked hard to propose an SXGA resolution while maintaining the simplicity of the Wildcat, making it very easy to integrate,” says Marc Larive, Strategic Marketing Manager at Xenics. The Wildcat+ 1280 is offered with CameraLinkTM or USB3 Vision interface and benefits from Wildcat features such as 2 trigger-in and 2 trigger-out and a high-precision temperature-stabilized FPA, which gives the camera a very stable performance in demanding environments. In addition, the Wildcat+ 1280 is sensitive from the visible to the SWIR wavelength (0.4 μm to 1.7 μm), allowing customers to obtain both visible and SWIR information from a single camera.
With a maximum frame rate of 120 Hz and power consumption of less than 7 W, the Wildcat+ 1280 is the perfect solution for high-resolution SWIR in the industry.
With the Wildcat+ 1280, Xenics sets new standards and offers the best for industrial applications such as:
Inspections where customers will benefit from the high resolution and vSWIR capability to precisely locate defects
Laser beam profiling , where customers benefit from both the high resolution and the very small pixel pitch of 5 μm, allowing them to analyze very small beams.
3D printing , where customers benefit from high resolution and high dynamic range.
With the Wildcat+ 1280, Xenics shows that SWIR is still a good solution to improve the capabilities of industrial image processing and process monitoring in industry.
